Today I took my elderly father and a little boy to The Coffee House in St Marychurch precinct.
We were able to park on the street nearby in free 2 hour parking, however there are also council car parks nearby for busier days.
Due to it being a wet and windy Sunday most of the precinct seemed to be closed, so I was pleased to find The Coffee House open with its bright and colourful interior making a stark contrast to the world outside.
We chose off the menu on our table and I ordered at the counter. We ordered a latte, a skinny latte, scrambled egg on toast, a Panini, and a children's meal box. Our order came to a little over £17.
The menu had a great selection to choose from including a good variety of options for children. We chose to have the children's box with a ham sandwich. It also came with crisps, biscuit, a packet of sweets, a sticker book and a choice of drinks (Fruit shoots were one of them- my pet hate, but I was pleased to see they had healthier alternatives too).
The gentleman who served me at the counter was friendly and helpful and remained that way for the duration of our visit.
When are coffees were brought over I mentioned my son likes the side biscuits, the gentleman then went off and came back with an extra biscuit for my little boy, which I thought was a lovely touch.
No complaints on the food at all, it was tasty and well presented.
The cafe is spacious with nice décor, and a selection of arts and gifts that are available to purchase. Have a high chair available which was brought to our table for us, which is always nice rather than having to lug it through a cafe yourself. The cafe seemed very clean.
I didn't make use of the toilets or baby change but noticed they were well sign posted.
All in all a great visit, lovely place made extra nice by such lovely staff. The menu prices make it just slightly over our price range as some where we'd visit all the time when compared to its cheaper town centre counterparts, but as a treat I will definitely be visiting again. Great visit.
