The Holiday Programme is a great way to try something new and experience what Torbay and Devon have to offer! Young people do not have to live in Torbay to be able to take part; they must simply be the correct age for the activity they wish to participate in. All sessions are led by qualified coaches and instructors who are all DBS checked and hold their own public liability insurance. Activities and venues are risk assessed and approved through Devon County Council.
Activities on offer for the summer will include: Abseiling, Activity Days @ Grenville House, Archery, Arsenal Soccer School; Battlefield; Bushcraft @ Primley Woods, Clip & Climb; Coasteering, Crabbing BBQ & Bushcraft, CSI Whodunit Forensic Challenge, Design & Make your own Jewellery, Design & Make your own teddy bear clothes, Design & make your own skirts/shorts, Exeter Chiefs 2 day Rugby Camp; First Aid Course, Fishing; Gorge Walking & Rock Climbing, Gymnastics at South Devon Gymnastics Club; High Ropes, Horse Riding at Coker Brown school of riding, Kayaking, Let’s Get Cooking & Baking, Open Canoeing, Trampolining & Wall Climbing and Gymnastics & Trampolining at Torbay Olympic Gymnastics Club; Mini Tennis; Mountain Biking at Haldon/Dartmoor; Netball, Sailing, Skateboarding, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Surfing and Woodcraft.

Councillor Derek Mills, Deputy Mayor, Executive Lead for Health and Wellbeing and Corporate Services at Torbay Council, said: “I would wholeheartedly recommend that as many mums and carers take advantage of this programme. This programme will be fun, will break down isolation and provide an outlet for healthy exercise for Mums and their children, improving both physical and mental well-being.”
Jane English, Principal of Paignton Community and Sports Academy said, ‘The Academy is pleased to be offering a range of activities to young people and in particular the Active Mums programme, giving Mums and under fours a chance to engage in physical activity this year.’
Claire Blagdon, Trips & Activities Manager said, “The Torbay Holiday Programme is extremely popular with young people and parents, it offers them a chance to try new activities at a low cost and take part in sessions in a safe environment. We look forward to expanding our age range to include activities for 0-4 years this summer”
